Fashion & Lyrics


August 1- Brooklyn, NY


Fashion & Lyrics was a fusion of performing art and fashion. The event was held at and was co-sponsored by the Fish Eye Bar and Grill in Brooklyn, NY. The night featured performers Nathaniel Peterson, Jus B, Martha Jones, and Raechael Knight as well as clothing by designers Lajuanda Moody (Dazeke), Marsha Williams (Marsha’s Designs) and Yejide Harris (Kultural Shock).
Nathaniel and Jus B left the ladies in the audience swooning with their R&B performances. Martha brought the house down with her gospel performance, and Raechael emanated cool vibes with her thought provoking spoken word piece. Dazeke showed pieces from their muted collection along with pieces from their other collections featuring coats, ready to wear dresses with cultural and colorful prints, and beach wear. Marsha Designs was filled with playful party dresses that were both colorful and sophisticated. Kultural Shock showcased some of their signature African cultural pieces for men and women as well as pieces from their new couture line.
All proceeds went to the YAI/NIPD Brooklyn Day Services Program’s Central Park Challenge fundraiser.YAI/NIPD is dedicated to giving services to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Welcome Baby Samantha


July 18 - South Ozone Park, NY


New parents Bethanie Wilson and Richard Willis welcomed baby Samantha Willis into the world on July 17th. With their shower scheduled for the following day the parents decided the show must go on which turned it into the “Welcome Baby Samantha” party. Family and friends gathered together to shower the parents with gifts for their new addition and participated in several games such as baby shower trivia, and “My Water Broke” where participants had to find creative ways to break a plastic baby out of an ice cube.

Fashionably Aware


May 30 –Bridgeport, CT


Fashionably Aware co-sponsored by Hall Neighborhood House and Dazeke Clothing (Lajuanda Moody) was a youth day which included a children’s fashion showcasing clothing from Dazeke’s child clothing line “Little Miss Chic” ©, urban wear from Tru Kullaz (Tiffany Martinez) and, clothing from Marshalls and JC Penney .


The purpose of this day was to promote self-awareness, self-esteem and to encourage the practice of living a healthy and fulfilling life. The day's events also included, dance, and music performances as well as vendors, and resource booths.
