Fashion & Lyrics


August 1- Brooklyn, NY


Fashion & Lyrics was a fusion of performing art and fashion. The event was held at and was co-sponsored by the Fish Eye Bar and Grill in Brooklyn, NY. The night featured performers Nathaniel Peterson, Jus B, Martha Jones, and Raechael Knight as well as clothing by designers Lajuanda Moody (Dazeke), Marsha Williams (Marsha’s Designs) and Yejide Harris (Kultural Shock).
Nathaniel and Jus B left the ladies in the audience swooning with their R&B performances. Martha brought the house down with her gospel performance, and Raechael emanated cool vibes with her thought provoking spoken word piece. Dazeke showed pieces from their muted collection along with pieces from their other collections featuring coats, ready to wear dresses with cultural and colorful prints, and beach wear. Marsha Designs was filled with playful party dresses that were both colorful and sophisticated. Kultural Shock showcased some of their signature African cultural pieces for men and women as well as pieces from their new couture line.
All proceeds went to the YAI/NIPD Brooklyn Day Services Program’s Central Park Challenge fundraiser.YAI/NIPD is dedicated to giving services to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Welcome Baby Samantha


July 18 - South Ozone Park, NY


New parents Bethanie Wilson and Richard Willis welcomed baby Samantha Willis into the world on July 17th. With their shower scheduled for the following day the parents decided the show must go on which turned it into the “Welcome Baby Samantha” party. Family and friends gathered together to shower the parents with gifts for their new addition and participated in several games such as baby shower trivia, and “My Water Broke” where participants had to find creative ways to break a plastic baby out of an ice cube.

Fashionably Aware


May 30 –Bridgeport, CT


Fashionably Aware co-sponsored by Hall Neighborhood House and Dazeke Clothing (Lajuanda Moody) was a youth day which included a children’s fashion showcasing clothing from Dazeke’s child clothing line “Little Miss Chic” ©, urban wear from Tru Kullaz (Tiffany Martinez) and, clothing from Marshalls and JC Penney .


The purpose of this day was to promote self-awareness, self-esteem and to encourage the practice of living a healthy and fulfilling life. The day's events also included, dance, and music performances as well as vendors, and resource booths.

From the Gateway to the Runway at Fashion Rocks CT. II


Fashion, music, and art will collide at “Fashion Rocks CT., Part II” on Saturday April 25, 2009 at the Holiday Inn located in Stamford, CT. The theme of the show is based on fashion as seen through the eyes of a jet setter. Some of the top up and coming designers from Connecticut, and New York will showcase fashion lines that will reflect the theme displaying everything from couture, to ready- to- wear designs inspired by exotic countries, and the fashion capitals of the world .

The distinctive collection of designers participating in Fashion Rocks CT., Part II include: La Diva Lamonte who has participated in Harlem Week, and NY Fashion Week; Vaughn Jereaux, winner of the “Race to Be” competition sponsored by Russell Simmons, and has been featured in variuos publications; Ox*Lunden who has participated in NY and DC Fashion Week, and whose designs have been featured in Vibe magazine and Source magazine; Bsixtee6 who was featured in Japenese Vogue, and other publications as well as worked with artists such as Erykah Badu;The show also includes work from designers Dazeke, Marsha Designs, Jean Envy, ODP and many more.

Performers include recording artists Dante Hawkins, Jus B, and Arika Kane. There will also be an appearance by New Haven’s Nations Drill Team and Drum Core. Music will be done by Bad Boy Record's DJ Marvls.
The show will be presented by D.I.V.A. Productions who has hosted several fashion shows over the last five years, Massari Entertainment’s Will Reyes who has promoted recording artists such as Dante Hawkins, and managed the tour of Mario Winans and Loons, and Irresistible Times’ blogger Kawana Brickhouse.

Fashionably Loud


Zuri Events, LLC wrapped up work on the Kultural Shock fashion show, featuring up and coming designers and performers from all over CT this weekend February 7, 2009. The show was a fusion of everything from Hip Hop inspired clothing to Haute Couture as it relates to the evolution of fashion in the African American culture.

Now, as soon as one project ends another one begins as we start working on an exclusive Haute Couture fashion show which will be held this April.
